Mighty Mighty Bosstones are formed.

Original members include Cambridge high school friends guitarist Nate Albert, dancer and back-up singer Ben Carr, bassist and songwriter Joe Gittleman, guitarist Nate Albert, and singer Norwood native and Bunker Hill Community College student Dicky Barrett, his friends trumpeter Tim Bridwell and saxophonist Tim Burton, along with drummer Josh Dalsimer. The group pioneers what comes to be called ska-core music, and performs an annual Christmas “Hometown Throwdown” in Boston beginning in 1998. Following a brief hiatus in 2004, the band resumes touring in 2008, until breaking up in 2022.
